Privileges Desk

Contact the Privileges Desk for information about accessing and borrowing materials from the UC Berkeley Library’s expansive collections, to learn about your responsibilities, and to get your questions on these topics answered.

From Dec. 9 to Dec. 20, in-person Privileges Desk services are by appointment only (no phone service). Patrons may schedule an appointment on our appointments website. 

The Privileges Desk will be closed Dec. 21, 2024 - Jan. 12, 2025. Appointments will be available beginning Jan. 13, 2025. Normal hours resume on Jan. 21, 2025.

About

The Privileges Desk:

  • Answers questions about access and privileges.
  • Issues and renews library cards.
  • Collects fines and fees, accepts book replacements for items from the Main (Gardner) Stacks and Moffitt Library.
  • Reserves study carrels for graduate students, visiting scholars, and postdocs.

Privileges services are also provided remotely via email: privdesk-library@berkeley.edu.
