Statement of purpose
The purpose of the Berkeley Technical Services Discussion Group (BTECH) is to bring together, on a monthly basis, Library staff members from all technical service units and subject specialty libraries:
- to informally discuss any work-related issues of mutual interest, for the purpose of sharing information and possibly resolving any outstanding problems
- to address any procedures that are ambiguous or hard to understand
- to improve job skills through training workshops
The group also advises and makes recommendations to the Cataloging & Metadata Council, when appropriate or necessary, for further discussion and decision on formal issues of library technical service policy.
