Giving to the Engineering Library

Introduction

Thank you for considering a gift to our library. The five engineering and physical sciences libraries at UC Berkeley welcome gifts in all forms. Many private donors and foundations have made generous contributions over the years to help sustain the excellence of our collections and services.

Financial gifts

Financial support provides funding for books, maps, online resources, special projects, or library space improvements. Contributions of any amount are welcome. You may make a donation directly to this library by visiting our fund page and selecting “Add to basket.”

Please also see the how to give page for more information on the many different ways to donate to the libraries.

Donating books, journals, and maps

Gifts of scholarly and professional materials have historically represented a significant element in the development of our outstanding research collections. We welcome individual gifts of maps and books, but we must be judicious in accepting large contributions. Please contact Brian Quigley about any materials you wish to donate.

Donors should be aware that the materials offered may be duplicates or outside the scope of the collection. In these cases, the materials may be sold and the proceeds used to purchase other materials for the collections. Please see our scholarly materials section for more information on book donations including tax and appraisal considerations.

The University of Buffalo Libraries also maintain a list of International Donation Programs that you may want to consider for your book donations.
