Hermaphrodites Speak

This film covers a meeting of intersexed people at the first retreat of the Intersex Society of North America. Seven participants, two assigned as men and four as women, and one individual who identifies as neither male or female but as a third gender, tell their stories of growing up intersexed and their feelings of social isolation. They express resentment towards the medical establishment and the current standard medical treatment for hermaphroditic children. Presented by ISNA, Intersex Society of North America, 1997. 34 min.
