UC Berkeley Library

You can still access the UC Berkeley Library’s services and resources during the closure. Here’s how.

Using the Library during COVID-19

During the pandemic, many of our services are being offered in new ways. To find the latest information on course reserves, book returns, 24/7 online help, and more, visit our COVID-19 portal, which provides more up-to-date information than the text below.

Library Privileges for Unregistered UCB Undergraduates or Graduate Students on Filing Fee Status

Content section:

UC Berkeley undergraduates and graduate students who are completing unfinished course work, or who are on filing fee status, may have their library privileges extended. In order to have your privileges extended you must email the Library Privileges Desk (privdesk@library.berkeley.edu) with:

  • a letter from your advisor/department (on letterhead) affirming your ongoing "good standing" and intention to complete program
  • payment of $25.00 will be made online once invoiced in My OskiCat

Once you have supplied these items your privileges will be extended for six months. You will retain the same privileges you had as an enrolled student, including, but not limited to, database access via the proxy server.

Students interested in locating forms for initiating filing fee status should consult the Graduate Division Forms & Applications website.
