Lest We Forget

A powerful "gut-wrenching" overview of World War II as seen through the eyes of an American soldier, from the Allied invasion to Berlin. Immediately after the surrender of all the German Forces, General Eisenhower ordered a documentary produced honoring the outstanding and stunning accomplishments of the American foot soldier. Once produced, however, he ordered all known copies destroyed, due to the"negative tones" of the finished film. This film was made from the only surviving copy. 1945. 48 min.
