Documents the institution of Geisha in Japan, a secretive sorority in high demand by members of Japan's wealthy elite. Called "entertainers," by some and "prostitutes," by others, this documentary shows the daily lives of Geisha women and trainees (Maiko), including their costumes, makeup, living arrangements, and performance in dance and music. Includes interviews with Geishas, Maikos, and clients. c1999. 51 min.
