Using the Library during COVID-19

Most of UC Berkeley’s library buildings are open. To stay up to date on the Library’s policies and services during the pandemic, visit the Library’s COVID-19 webpage.

Moffitt Library will be closed for a seismic safety construction project from January through August 2022.

Students are welcome to use REST Zones to take a break from studying.

Guidelines for using this space:

  • Please be considerate of others; do not monopolize the space.
  • REST Zones are intended for brief naps of 40 minutes.
  • REST Zones are for rest. No laptops, no phones.
  • Please keep the REST Zone clean. Don't leave litter for others to pick up after you.
  • One person per seat.

REST Zones can be found at the following locations:

  • ASUC Berkeley Student Union
  • Bechtel Engineering Library
  • Tang Center
  • Wurster Environmental Design Library
  • Moffitt Library
