Exhibit Selection Criteria

Content section:

The C. V. Starr Library supports every aspect of East Asian programming on the Berkeley campus. For this reason, and because exhibit space in the Library is extremely limited, the Starr will consider only those proposals from outside individuals or organizations that meet both of the following criteria:

  1. The exhibit or artist must be of international standing or reputation and must have already been shown in a respected museum, gallery, library, or similar venue.
  2. The content of the exhibit must be of immediate relevance to current East Asian studies programming and the Library’s collections and collection interests. Formats must be consistent with those found in the Library’s collections.

The Library will strive to ensure that over time, the countries and cultures that are the focus of the Starr’s collections—China, Japan, and Korea—will all be represented in the exhibits selected, whether individually or collectively.

Please address all exhibit proposals to Deborah Rudolph, C. V. Starr East Asian Library, University of California, Berkeley, CA 94720–6000.
