Can I make a virtual research appointment?
Cal researchers can Make an Appointment online with their CalNet ID. Meet virtually with a librarian who will help refine and focus research inquiries, identify useful sources, and develop search strategies.

How do I access library resources from off campus?
Anyone may access the library catalogs and most of the Library's web pages from any Internet-connected computer.
Some licensed electronic resources, such as e-books, journal article databases, and online reference tools, are commercial products with access restrictions. UC Berkeley students, faculty and staff members, and some other individuals affiliated with the University can connect to these resources from off campus using the library proxy or VPN. Can I access full text through Google Scholar?
Google Scholar users must integrate "Get it at UC" to their Google Scholar search results in order to access full text through the UC Berkeley Library’s subscriptions.
- From the Google Scholar home screen, click on > Settings > Library links.
- Type "Berkeley" in the search box.
- Accept the default (Open WorldCat - Library Search)
- check the boxes next to "University of California Berkeley - Get it at UC"
- and "University of California Berkeley - Proquest Fulltext"
- Click Save.
