Audix PH-5 speakers (or PH-3's) are highly recommended. They have much fuller sound than computer speakers. I would also add an ART MacroMix for adjusting sound levels. My last suggestion is a wireless presenter-Logitech's are nice. The items are all available from

I hope this helps!

Subject: [Videolib] Circulating AV Cart

We are currently looking into creating a circulating AV cart with a laptop, projector, vhs and multi-region dvd player, and speakers for our students.

We are trying to fill a need for small group viewing of video because our regular video viewing room is often booked for other meetings, etc and we have small group study rooms that we were hoping small groups could use.

Does anyone here have experience circulating AV carts and if so, what other equipment would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
