Program

Welcoming Remarks - Mary Elings

Speaker - Gunter Waibel, Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director of the California Digital Library (CDL)

Waibel’s presentation “California Digital Library: Mapping Next Steps” began with a historical and organizational overview of CDL. He discussed several dimensions of CDL’s new iterative strategic planning process, and posed these questions for the future: As a 20 year old organization with many service commitments, how do we carve out room for innovation? What is CDL’s niche at a UC where all campus libraries are also digital libraries?
