      • The current balance is $73,264.44
  • LIBR (N. Shiraishi) - Meeting cancelled, no report
  • LAUC statewide call - rescheduled to April 17th, no report
  • LAUC statewide assembly, March 28, 2019  (N. Shiraishi, M. Harmon and A. Clemons, guest)
    • ExComm members attending were J. Rosario, N. Shiraishi and M Harmon.  A. Clemons attended as a guest.
    • Discussion of assembly and topics addressed included:
      • Continued discussion of barriers to participation in LAUC
      • How to improve participation
      • Finding ways to communicate more effectively
      • Making LAUC more visible and relevant, both on the statewide and local level
      • What do we perceive the purpose of LAUC to be?
      • What do librarians envision LAUC could be?
      • LAUC as librarian advocate
  • New Business
    • New UC-AFT MOU and what it means for LAUC (I. Wang, guest)
      • Discussion on what the new MOU means for LAUC
        • Planning education session to update union members on details of contract changes
        • Planning outreach beyond union members
        • Documentation for CAPA must be reviewed, this happens anytime there’s a new contract
        • Local procedures - differ widely among campuses.  What should be included in local procedures?
        • Issues of academic freedom for librarians.  Is the work of librarians viewed as academic?
        • Procedure for academic freedom grievance action.  What would the adjudicating body be for such a grievance?  Would LAUC be involved?
        • Reminder: April 23rd Party at D. Eifler’s house to celebrate the librarians' new contract
  • Continuing Business
    • Library and Affiliated Libraries Spring Assembly April 18, 2019 (J. Ott, guest)
      • The Spring Assembly will begin with a brief business meeting
      • The Nominations and Elections Committee will announce the slate of candidates for 2019 - 2020 LAUC-B offices
      • The Celebration of Library Research and Mini-poster Session will follow the business portion of the assembly.
      • J. MacKie-Mason will introduce the Celebration
      • J. Ott reported that everything was on track for the assembly and celebration
  • CaMeL action on Social Justice Task Force charge (R. Brandt and C. Tarr, guest)
    • R. Brandt and C. Tarr provided an update on the UC Berkeley Cataloging and Metadata Librarians Interest Group’s proposal to add local subject headings to records in OskiCat containing one or more of seven LC subject headings related to “Illegal Aliens”.
    • LC subject headings would be supplemented by local terms, not removed
    • CaMeL plans to finalize the proposal shortly and submit it to Cataloging & Metadata Council for discussion and potential implementation.
