The Planning Process: Conversations with Campus Stakeholders

Building not only on early foundational work, the wide-ranging investigations of our Think Tanks, and the input of students, the Moffitt program has also taken shape in dialogue with campus stakeholders, including faculty and representatives of a number of campus partner units. Below, a chronology of key conversations related to future space programming in Moffitt.

2008

  • Meeting with Academic Senate President William Drummond and Professor of Public Policy John Ellwood
  • 1st meeting of the Provost-appointed Moffitt Program Advisory Committee (see members on the Project Leadership page).

2009

January - March

  • Meeting with Faculty Development Group for discussion of potential partnerships
  • Meeting with CalTeach Director for discussion of potential partnership
  • Strategic planning meeting with campus Information Systems & Technology (IST)
  • Meeting of Program Advisory Committee subgroup members Cathy Koshland, Christina Maslach, Emily Marthinsen, Stan Mar, Kathleen Gallagher, and Beth Dupuis for feedback on initial programmatic vision
  • Meeting with Academic Senate Committee on the Library
  • Meeting with Teaching and Learning Directors about potential partnerships

  • 2nd Moffitt collection discussion with AUL Eckman

  • Moffitt Program Advisory Committee confirms vision and program, officially closing feasibility study phase.
  • Vice Provost-appointed Moffitt Classroom Committee meets for renovation overview and tour of Moffitt

2010

  • Campus proctoring needs discussion with Associate Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusion Basri and Director of Disabled Student Program Hippolytus
  • Kickoff meeting of Moffitt Classroom Team, charged to investigate alternatives for campus classrooms in Moffitt
  • Meeting with Academic Senate Committee on Education Policy
  • Faculty Roundtable convened to provide input on future of Library and consultation on capital campaign
