Connecting to the Repository
To start using SmartSVN to manage your website's files, you first need to connect SmartSVN with the Subversion repository for your site. Your LCMS administrator will provide you with the URL for your repository and the username and password you'll need to access it.
TIP: You can find a complete list of LCMS repository URLs here. Copy your repository URL from the list and paste it into the URL: text box in the SmartSVN popup window.
- Open the SmartSVN application from your desktop, Start Menu, or Applications folder. If you're asked to choose your SmartSVN version, select the option for the Free Professional edition.
- Select Check Out... from the Project menu.
- In the popup window, click the Quick Checkout radio button. In the URL: text box, enter the URL for your site's repository. You'll enter your Local Directory and complete the checkout process in the next step.
