CDC Report - Alan Ritch
He reported on electronic and consortial projects, including the Encoded archival digital archive project which is a part of the consortial groups, there was discussion on changing roles of intercampus selection groups. Some intrinsic benefits are endangered serials last copy projects. Group models may change. Some suggested needs: assess subject focused data bases, such as FRANCIS.

PAIS is now available and Soc Abs will be fully available soon (subsequently it is now available). Guides are available. Feedback is welcome. The task force held its meeting 15 May at DLA. Action: Give Michael Winter suggestions and comments.

She discussed and surveyed potentia1 changes to SocAbstracts data base field structure, specifically value and use of identifier or indexer phases in comparison to descriptors. She was interested in elements such as dependent and independent variables, tests/measures, population/geographics, and additional information. She welcomed comments and suggestions. She reported the Oct. 1996 issue of Note Us from Soc Abstracts announces their SAI web search service is now available.
