Visiting Architects on Berkeley Campus
Berkeley, Sept. 4.--An exceptionally clear day tempted the four architects engaged in deciding the Phebe Hearst architectural competition to come across the bay this morning and spend several hours inspecting the site for the building whose plans they are soon to select. The party consisted of Herr Wallot of Dresden, Germany; John Belcher, Walter Cook and H. Pascal. They reached the campus on one of the early trains and took the whole morning walking from one point to another to study each with reference to the buildings that are to go up.
Professor William Carey Jones and B. R. Maybeck accompanied the architects. The party returned on the 1 o'clock train to San Francisco.
