The photographs were produced by Alan Nyiri over the course of several
trips to each of the campuses between August 2002 and April 2003. Mr.
Nyiri, a renowned photographer, has produced several photographic essays
for other U.S. universities.
The project was overseen by Karen Sinsheimer,
Curator of Photography at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, in consultation
with Therese Heyman, Curator of Special Projects at the Oakland
Museum. Architectural information about the campus buildings was
gathered with the generous assistance of many
individuals throughout the University of California. The Web
site was developed by several
individuals at the UC
History Digital Archives, based at UC Berkeley.
