Interesting Drupal Features
There are hundreds of add-on modules and customizations available for use in Drupal, and I've enabled a few of them for the benefit of our site's visitors as well as some for us to use while creating content.
The Link Checker Module
The Link Checker has been set up to run continuously without the need for any action on our part. This module doesn't send a formal report by e-mail, so I suggest that you take a quick look at each of your pages on a regular basis.
To check for broken links: log in, navigate to the page that you’d like to view, and click the Edit tab. If there are any broken links, they'll be listed in a little yellow box at the top of the page. For example:

I've found that in most cases, the links aren't really broken. In this particular example, the link checker is trying to check two secure "https" websites, and I suspect that the SciFinder and RefWorks servers have coding in place to block robots and spiders. Since link checkers are software that resembles robots and spiders, they'll be excluded as well.
Note: the flagged links are active and you can check them manually if you wish.
