COPY PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES

Copy Photography, a unit of Film and Digital Services in the Preservation Department, provides professional quality photographic copies of original materials to UC Berkeley libraries, professors, researchers, students, and patrons requesting copies of library materials or copies of their own original materials.

Please note: Slides, transparencies, and negatives can be made from flat, loose originals or from originals bound in books.  35mm slides are intended for lecture or reference use, and are not recommended for publication.  4x5 is the preferred film size for publication in color.  Negatives must be supplied or ordered for all print orders.

TAX

The 8.75% California sales tax is levied on all LPS orders except: those shipped to an address outside of California, those paid by IOC, or UC account, those accompanied by a state-issued resale number.

A daytime phone number for the receiver must be provided on all FedEx shipments.Note: FedEx will not deliver to Post Office Boxes, nor will UPS unless a daytime phone number is listed on the mailing label.  We suggest that you provide a street address for shipping.

PLACING AN ORDER

  • Normal work turnaround is 15 business days from receipt of the order though duplication jobs can be completed more quickly.
  • Orders for duplication of client-supplied or library materials can be made by appointment, available Monday - Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Please call 642-4665 to schedule appointments.
  • Orders for duplication of library materials in Doe/Moffitt Libraries need to be placed through Interlibrary Borrowing Services; please see instructions and policies for UC and UC Berkeley patrons and those for non-UC patrons. For materials in the branch libraries please contact the library holding the materials.
  • Any order for the duplication of non-circulating materials must be placed with the library holding these materials and not Library Photographic Services. For example, to place an order with Bancroft Library contact Bancroft, Reference and Access Services.

  • PAYMENT

All payments must be arranged at the time an order is placed. Acceptable forms of payment include cash (for onsite orders), check (payable to U.C. Regents), credit card, interdepartmental or intercampus charge form (IOC), printed purchase order from an established business or institution.
