Shrouded in Mysteries
The San Francisco Bay Area has long been a popular setting for mystery, detective, and crime fiction. Within just a few short years of its construction, the Golden Gate Bridge began appearing on the covers of San Francisco mysteries. Now, as the iconic landmark of the region, depictions of the bridge appear with startling regularity. To countless book jacket designers, nothing says “San Francisco” quite like the image of the Golden Gate Bridge.
"Shrouded in Mysteries" is an exhibit by The Bancroft Library, University of California.
