Linguistics includes the study of electronic speech and its modulation. Professor Pierre Delattre, uses artificial speech synthesizers to study the acoustic elements which make vowels and consonants intelligible. with these machines, hand-painted patterns of speech can be transformed into clear sounds and manipulated at will to observe the effect of changes upon the ear.
