Captain Blood (1935)

Directed by Michael Curtiz. Cast: Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, Lionel Atwell, Basil Rathbone, Ross Alexander, Guy Kibbee, Henry Stephenson, Robert Barrat, Hobart Cavanaugh. Dr. Peter Blood, a British surgeon, is arrested and wrongly condemned to slavery in the Caribbean for helping a rebel soldier in England, 1685. After spending some time as a slave, he escapes along with another ex-seaman, steals a ship and becomes a pirate who effectively steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Based on the novel by Rafael Sabatini.

Captain Lightfoot (1955)

Michael Martin, a naive and impetuous young would-be rebel in 1815 Ireland, turns to robbery in his desire to support the cause against England. Now wanted by the British and forced into hiding, he crosses paths with the renowned rebel leader Captain Thunderbolt aka John Doherty, who takes him under his wing. Impressed with Michael's bravery, Thunderbolt makes him his second-in-command.
