How do I know whether to use OskiCat, Melvyl, WorldCat, or what?

Not the first time we have heard this question. All of these are library catalogs that can lead you to online and print books, journals, media, and other information located at Berkeley, within the UC Libraries, or in libraries worldwide. A rough guide:
  • OskiCat - the UCB catalog gives specific locations on campus, lets you renew and recall items.
  • Melvyl - covers all the UC campuses, and libraries worldwide, too, because it's based on ...
  • WorldCat - catalog of worldwide libraries that can also lead you to items at Berkeley.
Take a look at our Guide to Library Catalogs page for more information and links to the above catalogs.
