      Presents analysis of 1992 congressional campaign spending based on candidate reports to FEC. For each race info is provided on spending, fund raising, and campaign strategy along with financial tables for each candidate comparing campaign expenditures in 26 categories.     • For an index to statistical publications of US and state governments and intergovernmental organizations use Lexis/Nexis Statistical. Some reports are available full text online. For other formats, use microfiche collection located in GREF (for federal and IGO publications) or Bus/Econ Library for state/private sources. Check GLADIS/MELVYL for print copies under headings: elections, campaign funds, political action committees, political parties, etc. Federal Elections Commission reports included in the ASI fiche.

    • American national election studies, 1948-1994. Ann Arbor, Institute for Social Research, 1995. (CD-ROM at IGS Library)
      The National Election Studies program conducts national surveys of American electorate in all presidential presidential mid-term election years from 1948 to present. Includes data on voting, public opinion, and political participation. This cd-rom contains time series data from biennial national elections from 1948 to 1994 and selected panel studies conducted across years. NES data is also made available through ICPSR.     SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

    • The Institute of Governmental Studies Library (109 Moses) maintains an Election Ephemera collection containing campaign literature including newspaper/periodical articles, position statements of candidates/interest groups, etc. at the national, state and regional level. Especially useful for researching statewide ballot propositions.

    • Election Corner, a collection of current campaign and election materials compiled during an election year and housed in a special area of the IGS Reading Room. Included are periodicals, newsletters, poll data, etc related to the current year's election.
