Collection Description

The UC Berkeley Library maintains a research-level collection in political science which supports the research and teaching programs not only of the Political Science Department but of many other disciplines, interdisciplinary programs, and professional schools.

The major part of the political science collection is housed in the Gardner (Main) Stacks in Doe Library. The Moffitt Library also maintains a smaller collection of core, high-use English language materials of particular relevance to the undergraduate curriculum. Reference materials in the social sciences, including area studies, are located in the Reference Center on the 2nd floor of Doe, and a smaller collection of reference materials in these disciplines is available extended hours on the 3rd floor (entry level) of Moffitt, near the Information Gateway. Government documents reference sources, including statistical and legislative items, are shelved in the North Reading Room of the Doe Reference Center.
