Collection Description
All aspects of philosophy are collected in support of the research and teaching needs of those in Philosophy, Rhetoric, Classics, area studies and other interdisciplinary fields. Multimedia and electronic materials are as actively acquired as books and journals. Most print materials in philosophy are in the Gardner (Main) stacks with additional core English language texts in the Moffitt Undergraduate Library. Materials related to mathematical logic are located in the Mathematics-Statistics Library. The East Asian Library houses all materials in East Asian languages. The non-circulating collections in the Art History/Classics, South/Southeast Asia, Doe Reference and Graduate Services libraries may also be of use to those studying philosophy. Videos, DVDs and other multimedia materials are available for use in the Media Resources Center. Electronic materials are available on campus and to UC Berkeley-affiliated users from off-campus via our proxy server service. The Philosophy Department also maintains its own library.
