About the Morrison Library Collection
Morrison Library has both circulating and non-circulating books, magazines, and music CDs, and audiobooks.
Circulating Collections: Books in the contemporary fiction and non-fiction section are reviewed regularly with titles circulating in and out of the collection. This collection is kept to around 1,500 titles that may be checked out. Additionally, several hundred audiobooks on compact disk are available for check out. The Travel Collection contains quality travel guides and travelogues that cover a variety of world regions. With much more detailed and current information available on the Internet, the Travel Collection is not meant to serve as a repository for the latest travel guides, rather it provides selected guides for browsing convenience.
Non-Circulating Collections: The 10,000 volume Permanent Collection spans all subjects. The Poetry Collection consists of 20th and 21st century American poetry works.
The Graphic Arts Loan Collection circulating program is expected to resume September 1, 2008. The Music Collection, primarily CDs, is an on-site listening collection of chiefly classical, jazz, and popular music. There is also a small eclectic collection of phonographic records (and a phonographic player). Various magazines, journals, and newspapers are available for browsing.
The collections are cataloged and may be searched in Pathfinder, the UC Berkeley library catalog. Pathfinder also allows one to see a list of newly received books, as well as a list of audiobooks.
