Graduate Services
Graduate Services in Doe Library offers a core non-circulating research collection that supports UC Berkeley's graduate programs in the humanities and history, course reserves for graduate humanities and social sciences courses, and a quiet and congenial study space for graduate students and faculty.
Facilities
Graduate Services provides:
- Study tables, some with electrical outlets for laptop computers
- Computer workstations for library research and internet access
- Airbears wireless connectivity
- A digital copier
- Networked printing service (printer located in the adjacent Reference Hall)
The Data Lab is temporarily housed in Graduate Services.
Services
The desk staff monitor the room, provide catalog lookup and circulation services for reserves materials, and give directional information. Reference assistance is provided in the Reference Center just outside the entrance to Graduate Services. Graduate students and faculty needing individual reference assistance should consult the librarian in their field of interest. See also Services for Graduate Students for general information about using the Library.
Access Policy
Access to Graduate Services is automatically granted to all UC Berkeley faculty, staff and graduate students. Others may use or copy on site materials not available elsewhere in the Library system. Graduate Services users are asked to show their graduate, faculty, or staff identification, or to request the use of specific material, at the Circulation Desk upon entering.
