Giving to the Doe & Moffitt Libraries
The Doe & Moffitt Libraries hold a special place in the hearts and minds of many Berkeley alumni, faculty, staff, and friends. Our challenge is to meet the contemporary needs of students, faculty and researchers within the context of a legacy dating back to Doe Library’s opening in 1912.
Throughout its history, the Library has benefited from the generosity and loyalty of alumni and friends. Major gifts to the Doe/Moffitt Libraries have made possible the renovations of the Reading Rooms in the Doe Library and the creation of the Free Speech Movement Café in the Moffitt Library. Such support is crucial to the continued excellence of Doe/Moffitt Libraries and has enabled us to modernize our spaces, make special purchases for the collections, and initiate and sustain innovative services. Financial gifts may be unrestricted to support services, collections, and physical spaces as needed.
Contribute Online
You can easily make an online donation directly to the Library. Donations can be earmarked for specific services or locations within the Doe/Moffitt Libraries.
Memorial Gifts
Contributions given in memory or in honor of a person or to mark a special occasion are recognized with a bookplate and family members notified. For a gift of $1,000 a named memorial book fund can be established.
Endowments
For a minimum investment of $10,000, endowed collections may be established. The interest generated from the endowment will be used to acquire and process books, journals and other materials available to all library users. In addition to endowed collections, endowment opportunities are available to support a library program, project, or position.
