Use Verity to find a word on a Library Web page

  1. Go to the Library Web search page at http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/Help/searchlib.html
  2. Click on the link to Advanced Search.
  3. Click on the down arrow of the menu window that reads "should contain." Select "must contain."
  4. Leave as is, the menu window that reads "in the body."
  5. Leave as is, the menu window that reads "the words."
  6. In the text box below these menu windows, type in the word you want to find.
  7. Below this text box, leave as is the menu window that reads "must contain."
  8. Click on the down arrow of the next menu window that reads "in the body." Select "in the URL."
  9. Leave as is, the next menu window that reads "the words."
  10. In the text box below these menu windows, type in the name of your Library Web directory.
  11. Scroll down and click on the Search button.
  12. At the top of the search results screen, click on the link that reads "Link to your results."

Example: Suppose you want to find all of the web pages on the Bioscience Library web site that contain database named PubMed. Here's what your Verity advanced search screen should look like:
