Create and save an FTP session with WS_FTP

  1. Double click on the ftp icon WS_FTP that lives on your computer desktop.
  2. In the top tool bar click on File.
  3. In File click on New Site.
  4. In the New Site dialog box, in the text box labelled Create a Site named: type in the name of the ftp session.
    Example: TLIB Guides
  5. In the New Site dialog box, in the text box labelled Host Name or IP Address: type in sunsite.berkeley.edu
  6. In the space labelled User ID: type in idata
  7. In the space labelled Password: type in the password that you must obtain from webman.
  8. Click on the Save Password check box.
  9. In the text box labelled Local Folder: type in the directory path where the files on your computer live.
    Example: O:\Web\TLIB\Guides
  10. Click on the Advanced Properties button.
  11. Make sure the Session tab is selected.
  12. At the bottom of the Session dialog box click on the radio button labelled Auto Detect.
  13. Click on the Startup tab.
  14. In the text box labelled Remote Site Folder: type in the path of an ftp folder.
    Example: /pub/incoming/web/TLIB/Guides
  15. Click on OK.
  16. Click on Save.
  17. Click on Connect.
