EAD Encoding ToolsAs EAD has spread in popularity more and more tools are available for creating EAD encoded content. However, we are only listing the tools that we use and/or support. EAD XPress: a Word-based application for creating new finding aids via an input interface. Once input is complete, push-button export produces two documents: a fully-encoded EAD file, and a highly-formatted Word file suitable for printing out. Please contact Lynne Grigsby if you are interested in learning more about this tool. OAC EAD Toolkit: This "toolkit" of freeware and OAC-developed resources is provided for contributing members of the OAC to assist in the creation, editing, manipulation, proofing, and viewing of EAD-encoded finding aids that are compliant with the OAC Best Practice Guidelines for Encoding New Finding Aids, Version 1.0. |
