Jill Jackson's powerful new autobiographical solo show, A Long Drink of Silence, plays at the Shelton Theater April 4 - May 11. Sara Felder performs June Bride, combining juggling with a traditional Jewish lesbian wedding, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6th at Osher Marin Jewish Community Center. Later this year watch for her new piece, Keeping Up with the Joans, which combines oral history and theater.

April 7th and 8th PBS screens two strongly recommended documentaries that deal with race, history, and culture in powerful ways: Daughter from Danang and Strange Fruit.

Catch Josh Kornbluth improvising his new collaboration with David Dower, Love and Taxes, Fridays and Saturdays April 18 - May 3 at the Magic Theater.

The San Francisco International Film Festival runs April 17 - May 1 and features many interesting domestic and international films. We wish we could see them all, but we have to choose just a few. We're leaning towards several documentaries, but still open to strong suggestions!

If you have not yet seen Sarah Jones' Surface Transit, do not miss it at the Berkeley Repertory Theater April 18 - May 18. Also, check out her appropriately unbanned song/poem, Your Revolution.

Ira Glass, most well known for the often compelling radio program This American Life, will be speaking at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. (and we'll be ushering). On May 3-4 at the Osher Marin JCC, Spalding Gray is scheduled to performs his newest monologue, Black Spot (could be the intriguing Interviewing the Audience instead).

Alexa Weber-Morales sings originals, Brazilian music, and latin jazz with guitarist Vince Mansel in Morales y Mansel, Friday, April 11, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Zebulon, 89 Natoma and will be performing with the VR Collective April 27 at the Canvas Gallery and Cafe.
