Oskicat to Refworks

Import citations from Oskicat to Refworks
From the Oskicat search results screen:

  1. Check the boxes beside the items you wish to export.
  2. Click Save Selected Records, or Save All to save all records on a page.
  3. Click the View Saved button near the top of the page to see your list of saved records.
  4. Click the Export Saved button.
  5. Select EndNote/RefWorks.
  6. In the Send List To column, select Screen. Use your browser's Edit menu to select and copy all text on the page. (Alternatively, you can select Local Disk and save the references as a text file.)

In RefWorks:

  1. Log in and select References > Import.
  2. Under Import Filter/Data Source, select University of California at Berkeley.
  3. Under Database, select University of California Berkeley (OskiCat) (EndNote/RefWorks Format).
  4. Select Import data from the following text, then paste your copied text into the box and click Import. (Alternatively, select Import data from the following Text File, click Browse to navigate to the location of the file on your computer, and click Import.)

Melvyl to RefWorks

Exporting Single Citations from Melvyl to Refworks

From the Melvyl search results:

  1. Select the title of the item you want to export.
  2. Click on the Cite/Export link.
  3. Click on Export to RefWorks.
  4. RefWorks will open in a new browser window or tab. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in before continuing. Once you are logged in, your references will be imported automatically. (You may need to allow popups in your browser).

Exporting Multiple Citations from Melvyl to Refworks

  1. Register for a free account with WorldCat. Use the Sign in link at the top of the page to create your account.
  2. From the Melvyl search results page, check the boxes next to the citations you want to import, and use the dropdown above to save items to a new or existing lists.
  3. View your list by going to My WorldCat and My Lists.
  4. Open the list and click on the Citations View tab.
  5. Select the citations you want to import.
  6. From the Export selected references dropdown, choose to RefWorks.
  7. RefWorks will open in a new browser window or tab. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in before continuing. Once you are logged in, your references will be imported automatically. (You may need to allow popups in your browser).
