About this Guide

This site offers pointers to resources that may be helpful for the team projects in this course.

Welcome

This course will introduce students to various theories on diversity and the importance of
human capital equity and inclusion to organizations and bridge it with application via
community-based projects. Projects will be provided by this year’s community partner - The
Greenlining Institute www.greenlining.org. Students will engage in community-based
learning, enabling them to become more conscious of the social impact of positive human
relations in industry and scholarship to foster equity, social justice, and civic responsibility.

This course guide will introduce students in Erika Walker's Diversity in the Workplace class to various resources -- at the UC Berkeley libraries and beyond -- that should be helpful for the community-based projects.

This site is organized according to the topics for the team projects.

Remember that librarians are here to help!

We are happy to answer questions by email or over the phone (find our contact information on the left).  We can also schedule times for you to come in and work individually or in small groups with a librarian (email us to set up a time).  Finally, we're out at the reference desk in the Business Library, ready to answer your questions and provide research help, every Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 (on Fridays, we're there just until 4:00).

Access

On campus wireless access use: Airbears 2: wireless access on campus.

Off-campus access to many resources is limited to current UCB faculty, staff and students.
To access these resources from off-campus, please use one of the following:

Proxy Server
The proxy server is a computer on campus that will re-route your requests for licensed resources after authenticating you as a Berkeley student, faculty or staff member. You must configure your web browser in order to use it.

Proxy changes: Recent changes in the proxy server may have affected some users; see the Library's Proxy Server FAQ. iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch proxy server setup instructions.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)
The VPN is a software program that will establish a "tunnel" to our campus network, allowing you to access a broader variety of licensed resources.
