To search for the history of medicine in PubMed, enter your topic in the search box and then click on the Limits link above it. In the Subsets section, scroll down to History of Medicine and check the box next to it. Check any other limits that might apply. Then click search. This subset was created by the National Library of Medicine to facilitate searching for history topics and should return more precise results. NOTE: Always enter PubMed through the Libraries website so links to full text content will appear.
After conducting your search, look at the Research Areas options under the menu on the left. Choosing History from the list may provide you with a more relevant set of results.
Digitized version of the Index-Catalogue, the multi-part printed bibliography or list of items in the Library of the Surgeon-General's Office, U.S. Army. Contains over 4.5 million online references to over 3.7 million bibliographic items including 2.5 million items journal articles, 250,000 monographs (books, pamphlets, and reports), and approximately 300,000 dissertations. Covers up through 1961 imprints.

Indexes over 2,000 journals published worldwide on the history of the US and Canada from prehistory to the present. Includes all key English-language historical journals; selected historical journals from major countries, state, and local history journals; and a targeted selection of hundreds of journals in the social sciences and humanities.
Indexes over 2,000 journals, as well as historical book reviews and dissertations, published worldwide about all aspects of world history (excluding US and Canada) from 1450 to the present.
Includes over 1000 scholarly journals with access to more than 2 million articles. JSTOR does not include the most recent 3-5 years of the journals.
