About the Catalog:
The collection consists of approximately 12,000 photographs and 35mm slides taken or collected by Robert L. Wiegel. Also included are slides given to him by Joe W. Johnson, William J. Herron, Jr., Orville T. Magoon, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and others. There are photographs of beaches, waves (unbroken), breakers (surf, swash runup and drawdown), rip currents, river mouths, accretion and erosion, structures (piers, groins, breakwaters, seawalls, revetments, outfalls), construction, beach nourishment (fill), and more.

The catalog was originally created by Wiegel, utilizing the Papyrus Bibliography System. The records have since been imported and updated in other formats.
