- Calfish.org - Provides fish maps and data, including passageways
- California Historic Topographical Map Collection - CSU Chico
- California water-related maps Calif. Dept. of Water Resources (DWR)
- National Atlas - Water of the United States: includes GIS layers.
- Historical Map & Chart Project - NOAA
- USGS National Geologic Map Database - Geoscience resource for maps and related data about: geology, hazards, earth resources, geophysics, geochemistry,
geochronology, paleontology, and marine geology.

- World Water & Climate Atlas International Water Management Institute - The Atlas includes monthly and annual summaries for precipitation, temperature, humidity, hours of sunshine, evaporation estimates, wind speed, total number of days with and without rainfall, days without frost and Penman-Montieth reference evapotranspiration rates.

- California Rivers Assessment (CARA) - A a computer-based data management system designed to give resource managers, policy-makers, landowners, scientists and interested citizens rapid access to essential information and tools with which to make sound decisions about the conservation and use of California's rivers.

- EPA's Envirofacts - Maps - A single point of access to select U.S. EPA environmental data. This website provides access to several EPA databases to provide you with information about environmental activities that may affect air, water, and land anywhere in the United States. With Envirofacts, you can learn more about these environmental activities in your area or you can generate maps of environmental information.
- EnviroMapper - EnviroMapper for Water is a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) application that dynamically displays information about bodies of water in the United States.
- National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC)-- NOAA: various layers and data, including interactive maps.
- Stanford University GIS - Includes general guidelines for locating GIS data.

UC Berkeley GIS Center Geographic Information Center, UC Berkeley. Datasets available include City of Berkeley, West Oakland, and hydrology of the UC Berkeley campus.
- Web Soil Survey (NCSS) - Access to soil survey information is provided through maps. All text and tables relate to the map symbols and the areas delineated on these maps.
