This is a modified LANDSAT 7 Image to give an idea how big the proposed
runway expansion would be in the context of the entire Bay. While every
attempt has been made to be accurate, the scale of the picture makes
exact accuracy unlikely.
If Javascript in enabled in your browser, you can make the proposed runways
disappear by moving the cursor over the current runways. If Javascript is not
enabled, you will only see the extended runways.
Modification by Richard Zimmerman based upon documents from San
Francisco International Airport.

This is the runway layout, version BX-R as presented in the San
Francisco International Airport Status Summary, Nov. 2000.
The underlying chart is from NOAA - the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration.
If Javascript in enabled in your browser, you can make the proposed
runways appear by moving the cursor over the current runways. If
Javascript is not enabled, you will only see the current runways.
Modification by Richard Zimmerman based upon documents from
San Francisco International Airport. The "area of accretion" shown
here is an estimate based upon what happened when the runways
were extended in 1965. It is not based upon any documents from
San Francisco International Airport.
