A series of barriers to fish migration in the lower creek now prevent ocean-run steelhead
from ascending the creek during winter. A consortium of 12 local, state, and federal agencies
working with environmental and flyfishing groups is working to address these barriers
and make upper Alameda Creek once again accessible to anadromous steelhead.
