San Francisco Bay Fund
Inventory of Projects

Over the course of three years, The San Francisco Bay Fund, an initiative of The San Francisco Foundation, has provided funding to over 30 locally based environmental projects that work to improve water quality or reduce pollution through research or restoration in San Francisco Bay or its watershed. These projects focus on public health, fisheries, or wildlife.

This Inventory of Projects is a central clearinghouse of information about the projects funded by The San Francisco Bay Fund Initiative. The Water Resources Center Archives (at the University of California, Berkeley) and the Information Center for the Environment (at UC Davis) have partnered to create this inventory as part of a larger goal of facilitating access to information about the wide variety of restoration projects in the Bay Area. Each project is also registered with the Natural Resource Projects Inventory (NRPI) database.

The San Francisco Foundation established the San Francisco Bay Fund in December 1998 with $3.875 million from pre-trial settlement of a pollution lawsuit related to releases of selenium to San Francisco Bay.
