OK, my video budget is app. $5,000. That includes both adult and children's
video. If my math is correct, a single video that costs $300. would be
1/16 of my entire budget. And just which $300. video are we talking about
here or perhaps I should buy several! I'm sorry but it would be the height
of irresponsibility for me to spend that much money on one video when I
could buy 20 for that amount - and damn good ones too! If you look hard
enough there are even some pretty good business videos. The idea that the
only quality titles are the expensive ones is ludicrous. Several years ago
we had a state library friends group which negotiated a group purchase -
the problem was that it was too cumbersome and time consuming and it died
a natural and well-deserved death. Regional library collections might be
one way to provide these titles to smaller public libraries or friendlier
interlibrary loan procedures. Jeez, I have to stop replying to these
messages - I have lots and lots of videos to catalog! :)
