A few weeks back Kris Brancolini (I think) pointed out that New Yorker
Films is releasing a handful of Ousmane Sembene films on video. I called,
and here's the scoop: at present only one film (Mandabi $295) has been
restored/retitled. Four others (Xala, Guelwaar, Borom Sarret, and Camp de
Thiaroye) are currently available with very poor subtitles and print
quality. All four are slated for restoration, but there's no definite
release date.
