Re: Video Documentary Review

Hey all, before this gets out of hand, maybe I (Kerry Magee, the
student looking for reviews of Black History: Lost, Stolen or Strayed?
for an MLS-level video class) should clarify a bit. As originally
stated, this is only one part of an overall assignment involving
searching for, identifying, and going through the process of obtaining
several videos in a new subject area for the hypothetical video collection.
I had seen this video for another class and really liked it, and since
it was appropriate for my group's chosen topic, I decided to see what
was out there in the way of reviews, feedback, etc., as part of the
general process of "justifying" purchase (especially since it's a rather
"pricey" item) per the guidelines of this hypothetical library's video
collection development plan. Now, I'm a student and don't know what
constitutes a video "classic" in public library AV departments, or let's
say I was just graduating and my first position was head of a small AV
department-same problem applies.
Finally, I subscribed to this listserv at instuctor's suggestion,
and see how helpful and responsive you all are, and thought, what the
heck, let's see if anyone knows? So I'm sorry for any confusion,
and hope that no further maligning of our teacher will occur.
I'm really enjoying the class and think he's doing an excellent job.
Thanks again for all your feedback.
