Tin Drum Update

Well the good news is there is now a trial date that MAY actually be real,
August 9th
the bad news is that the case is so watered down that most of the important
issues will not be
litigated at this time. The trial will most likely deal exclusivly with
whether Michael Salem ( an ACLU worker who had rented the tape from
Blockbuster) "voluntarily" gave it to the police when they came to his
house. This is under the Video Privacy Protection act ie the Bork law. As it
stands
the content of THE TIN DRUM and the other actions taken by the city in
siezing it are not part of the case but may come up in appeals if it comes
to that.
