For those Video Round Table members out there and for others who will be at
the
American Library Association convention at the end of June, plan on
attending the VRT Gala on
Sunday, June 27, 1999 7-11pm.

The Gala will be held at Mike Anderson's Seafood Restaurant, 215 Bourbon
Street.

Guest Speaker is Peggy Scott Laborde, New Orleans documentary filmmaker and
television
personality. Her films include New Orleans That Was, New Orleans in the
Sixties, Mystery of the
Purple Rose: Creole Jazz Pioneers, Red Beans & Ricely Yours: Satchmo in New
Orleans,
Holy New Orleans, Cajun Crossroads, and The Creole Controversy.

We just started selling Gala tickets a couple weeks ago so there are still
many available but this is an event that
often sells out and this year we have a capacity of only 175. If you are
interested in coming don't hesitate in
ordering a ticket.

Tickets are $20 for VRT members and $25 for non-members. I can accept
checks, money orders, or credit card orders
in advance. If there are tickets still unsold at the time of the
conference, they may be purchased at the VRT table in
the Convention Center. The deadline for sending me an order is June 15.

My mailing address is: Chris Lewis, Media Services Dept., American
University Library, 4400 Massachusetts Ave. NW,
Washington, DC 20016-8046

Make checks payable to American Library Association.

If you would like to order via e-mail. I will need to know the kind of
credit card you wish to use, the card #, the expiration date,
your name as it appears on the card, the number of tickets, and the total
cost.
