I don't know about skipdoctor per se, but the way these things work is to
fill in the scratches
with a clear material...perhaps an acrylic...which makes them optically
clear so that the
laser beam can pass through. Sort of like varnishing an old table top.
And, of course, physically removing dust, spider droppings, cat hairs,
sticky liquid residue, etc.
