The main character is an insensitive lout of a construction foreman. He,
his wife, and most of his crew are Italian-Americans in New York City.
Despite the pleading of his long-suffering wife and the grumbling of his
workers, he refuses to let his crew off on Good Friday, or even to stop work
during the-sacred-to-Catholics 12 to 3 period. And guess what, during lunch
break, at noon, he falls off a scaffolding into a pit and his hands are
impaled on some rebar or something. He's also mired in wet cement. He then
spends the next three hours going through his own private "passion" and
finally dies, at three of course, despite efforts to free him.
The actor could have been Anthony Quinn.
