U-matic equipment search

Hi,
I know we rarely use this listserve for equipment questions,
but i thought you all might be helpful. As many of you are probably
aware, 3/4" tapes don't get used as much as they used to! And the
manufacturers of the equipment are not making replacement parts for
many of these old pieces. however, our faculty are still clinging the
3/4" tapes to their hearts.

We are down to one player and would like another one, but the new
ones are player/recorders and are costing around $4,000.00 which
is outrageous.

I was wondering if anyone has a U-matic that they no longer want,
not too terribly old, and would be willing to sell? We are looking
for the Sony model VP 7040, but would entertain other offers....
